International Womens' Day sees a number of MISSIONS to help forge a gender equal world.
Celebrating women's achievements and increasing visibility, while calling out inequality, is key.
This event takes place in the school hall in March every year to celebrate International Women’s Day. It showcases approximately 40 services and professionals from across Kirklees who join us in putting on an event that offers support not only women but the whole community. It is opened by the Mayor of Kirklees and the first female Chief Executive of Kirklees council Jacqui Gedman.
We encourage parents and community members to access support from local services, support groups and individuals/professionals who can help improve outcomes.
Approximately 100-150 women from the local community attend and are able to access and engage with local services e.g. mental health, domestic abuse, substance misuse, health services etc. The environment is calm and inviting with the addition of hand massage, Mehndi, crafting, and refreshments.
